Eachdayin2009,IaskedeverypersonwithwhomIhadameaningfulencountertosubmitarecordofthismeetingthroughanonlinesurvey.Thesereportsformtheheartofthe2009AnnualReport.Fromparentstooldfriends,topeopleImetforthefirsttime,tomydentist—anytimeIfeltthatsomeonehaddiscernedenoughofmypersonalityandactivities,theyweregivenacardwithaURLanduniquenumbertorecordtheirexperience.

IkepttrackonlyofwhoIgavesurveyinvitationsto,thenumberofthecardandwhereitwasgiven.Thesurveysanswersweresubmittedviatextforms,allowingtherespondeetowritewhatevertheydesired,andleavingthetaskofmakingcomparisonsbetweenthedatauptome.Ihaveusedonlythisinformationtocreatethereport,howeveraccurateitmaybe.IhavestrivedtosortandcollatethedatainaclinicalandrepeatablemannerthatcouldbereproducedbysomeonelookingforthesamestoriesIhaveselected.

Thedatasetitselfwasmessyandoverwhelming,andfilledwithenoughinformationforseveralmorereports.Thereareinherentshortcomings(liketheunrepresentativeamountofwaterrecorded),andendearingstrongsuits(liketheexplorationofmood).Iusedseveraltoolstomakethistaskamoremanageable,includingProcessing,whichallowedmetomapandexplorealternatelayoutsmuchmorequicklythanpreviously,andAmazon'sMechanicalTurk.

TheprintededitionofthereportwasletterpressedbySwayspaceinBrooklyn,NewYork.Itis16pagesandprintedusing4colorson80lb.FrenchDurotonecoverstock,individuallynumberedandsigned.
